What is the Community Ambassador Program?

The Community Ambassador Program, sponsored by the Texas Center for Patient Safety, empowers trusted members of local communities to become champions for healthcare education and preparedness. This initiative is designed for passionate individuals dedicated to increasing patient safety awareness by organizing and facilitating vital health events for their community of choice.

Have a passion to teach your community on health-related trainings and/or teachings?

Here's what we are looking for:

UNT Health Student Status: Must be a currently enrolled UNT Health Fort Worth pursuing a health profession or related degree.
Passion for Helping Your Community: A strong desire to teach, empower, and deliver vital health-related training directly to your community.
Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.

Awarded on a case-by-case basis for community tabling and outreach events.

What is Expected?

Host impactful sessions with a minimum of 10 attendees to qualify for a standard training stipend. (Events involving minors must be pre-vetted by the Texas Center Staff).

Gather complete sign-in sheets (including complete names, emails, and photo/video release signatures).

Collect pre- and post-surveys from at least 50% of your audience, capture at least 10 high-quality photos of the event, and submit a brief After-Action report.

A Texas Center for Patient Safety staff member will be present to support you during your very first community event! Additionally, you will receive an Onboarding Booklet with additional information and resources.

How to Join the Program

Application Process Details

Eligibility Check: Please note! This program is currently open exclusively to enrolled UNT Health students.
Submit Your Application: Ready your resume and write a short paragraph explaining why you want to be a Community Ambassador and your passion for patient safety.
Connect with Us: After submission, a staff member will reach out to schedule a brief in-person or virtual interview to get to know you.
Deploy: Read our onboarding document, receive your training supplies provided by us, and begin scheduling life-saving health education sessions in your community (or confirm your already planned event).
